Are there any books that you relate to, anons? If yes, why?

If you stopped telling yourself how awful you are 24/7, you'd probably be more able to accept kindness from others. It's good that you're aware of your shortcomings, but you also seem to have merged your sense of identity with them. Go to your mother right now and tell her sorry for behaving like that. Tell her that you don't want to feel this way and that you love her.

You seem to feel guilty towards others due to your misery, but no matter how badly you think of yourself, your thoughts are still consumed with worrying about your own feelings. There's a particular type of selfish misery that feeds on itself, indulging in a sort of theatrical, self-directed schadenfreude which is deep down just a form of covert narcissism. Stop thinking about yourself and do something to make your mother smile. See how it feels.

To answer your question, read pic related if you haven't already. It's short.
