Rephrasing question from a few threads back.
I need some novels where an empire expands by converting people into some religion. Most fantasy novels keep that in the background as a plot point, but I'd really like to get into the theological discussion that takes place in a world where there may be many gods, or maybe it's just creatures with super powers, who the fuck knows?

hi /sffg/ I've gotten some really nice gems from you, and I've come for more guidance. I'm an atheist that nevertheless is enamored with the stories from the bible, the concept of sainthood, angels, and the whole DEUS VULT thing (in the romanticized sense, let's keep the politics of it out of it).

As such, I'd like a book about religious discourse. I want to see someone covert a person or a village without (too much) violence. It can be a short story too. I read "The Last Church" of WH40K and it read like fedora-tipping entry-tier atheism. Bonus points for going beyond the existence of literal god who smites you down and going for the philosophy of existence and what it means to have gods, mainly because fantasy tends to have characters we real humans would already consider gods (mythical creatures, wizards, etc.)
