Which editions of Hamlet, King Lear, Julius Caesar, Othello, Richard III and Macbeth have the best notes?

I've recently set myself to read his complete plays, as i enjoyed Macbeth and Othello - are all of them worth reading? What about his sonnets?

I have read Paradise Lost and Moby Dick and have absolutely loved them, but for the life of me I can't get into Shakespeare. I just don't understand how to read his plays, they make no sense to me.
