You shouldn't base a character around one card but on several. You can give them a simple three card spread to give them a little shape or a more advanced one if you feel comfortable doing that.

I would advise you to go deeper than that though, even if it's just such a small step as using a Mantegna deck instead of the Rider-Waite one. There's tons of inspiration to find in the world of symbols and more esoteric texts, in more obscure myth and in mystic teachings.
