Who said I disliked Taoism? I think all religions are interesting and wonderful in their own way (except new-age shit).

I admit I’m not that educated on Buddhism, but my cursory understanding of it is that it’s meant to rid the world of suffering? For the sake of questioning and perhaps learning a bit of nuance to the religion why should I follow it if I fully disagree with this objective? I have no wish to rid myself nor the world of suffering. In fact I see such a thing as anti-human maybe even evil. Suffering is a necessary part of existence, I would not want to live a life without feeling all my emotions to their fullest. One of the most cathartic experiences of my life was hugging my mom at my grandfathers funeral. I would not wish away my or her sadness anymore then I would wish away the death of my grandfather. His time had come and this was the natural will of God.
