>TFW you fell for the philosophy of science meme and are now neither proper natural scientist nor philosopher
How do I salvage myself? I stopped at Schelling and went straight for the physicist/mathematician/chemist/biologist/sociologist And philosopher memers thinking that was the proper way to progress in philosophy as a whole.

I've never felt anything for another person in my life.

Not even my own family. How you feel about the postman is how I feel about my mother, father, siblings and extended family. I've never felt any attachment to them at all. Of course this is also true of anyone I've ever met. I've never had a friend or relationship because I don't have the urge for one. I can get hard and ejaculate no problem but it's like I'm missing the emotional component. The only time I feel strong emotions is when I'm experiencing art. Stirring music, a film with characters I like, a good book.

Are there any books dealing with this? I don't consider myself sick as I've always been like this, and I don't really want to change to be honest. I like being a calm wave, little ups and downs. Not like most people with their pathetic bawling and screeching when someone dies.

Psychoanalysis started when Freud wrote a second-rate essay on Dostoevsky.

So read Dostoevsky if you really want to understand human beings and not get bogged down with inferences, clinical detachment, biases on what "healthy" is, and jargon. The true scientists of psychology, behaviorists and neurologists, aren't literary in style since corroborating your findings with the scientific method means you can't whip up bullshit.

People give /v/ shit but beyond the mustardrace vs console and other shitposting, there is a distinct editorial kind of taste to the board. Games like MGS2, Soulsborne, Majora and Deus Ex are elevated and given serious discussion whereas games like Mass Effect or Battlefield are derided for being corporate cash-in shit. /mu/ is a bit more compartmentalized due to the highly individual tastes in music but there is a sort of canon within their respective genres and recommendations favor the new and different over the stale and mainstream.

In this respect, /lit/ is probably the best of all 4chan boards in terms of its userbase promoting a unified editorial taste.

/tv/ however, is mostly memes, gushing over waifus, and /pol/-tier baiting. There's no boardwide context. The majority of threads on /tv/ right now are about Game of Thrones. It's not to say there aren't intelligent posters on /tv/ but I am saying it's inferior to other boards on the internet whereas I'm quick to defend /lit/ over Goodreads, or /v/ over NeoGaf and Gamefaqs, every other board on 4chan over Reddit, etc.
