I really don't care if you don't want to have kids, as long as you don't care about other people having them. I really can't stop you from being a sorry sack of shit that thinks life is worse than having never existed, but I think life is pretty neat and I'm glad to be alive. Experience is subjective, my life experience has been a net positive so far, and I choose to believe that my child will enjoy life on a similar order of magnitude as me.

Let's say Francis was sincere and his experiences were holy. It would still be incredibly dangerous for people to model their spiritual lives after him.

Which ideology? Everyone is consumed by ideology. Being apolitical is itself an ideology. It is merely opposed to acknowledging or dealing with the far-reaching consequences and implications of one's lifestyle.

Emotions are political. Diplomacy, for instance, is often granted or denied based on the emotional stance of the host.

My point is that the concern for beauty, art, and so on hasn't disappeared or been buried under the concern for the political, rather it has been synthesized with the concern for the political.
