In your first claim you speak of consensus as ad populum in the circles of experts, yet science is nothing but a method and it doesn't need anybody to agree with it. Especially not in a time where western countries claim that factual statements can be considered hate speech.

Verification and duplicability is something completely different and a massive problem in modern studies, but mostly in soft science, where ideologies prevail. Especially were funding is dependend on knowing the right people and sharing their views.
