There is not emancipatory, progressive revolution anywhere in sight, the opposite is true: Around the world, regressive, reactionary movements are gaining traction and seek to destroy the accomplishments of civil society. Since those accomplishments are the basis for the possibility of emancipation, one must defend the status quo against regression, which is a far more pressing issue than making the revolution happen. To be radical today is to be conservative in the best sense.
