my man, distance yourself from distraction. I don't mean this in a quasi-meditative sense of "clearing your mind" or whatever, i mean physically remove yourself from the presence of objects that facilitate your distraction. Make it more inconvenient to fulfill your impulses than the gratification you would get from them and you won't find it hard to ignore them. eventually you will grow an endogenous love of reading, hopefully.
