I can't think of a single story in the Western Canon that has all of these. What does Bezos think of Jane Austen, for example, where the stakes are very low and the conflicts are primarily interpersonal? And matters of morality, too. Yet Austen is pretty popular to this day.

Unless your favorite male author is literally in the Canon she probably mogs the shit out of him. And even then, I'd pit her against some of the male writers in the Canon. She's in the Canon too, after all.

Jane Austen is the most snobbish person from whom I have ever read a book and her writing style sounds like some 15 year old child that had a stroke while doing a class asignment.
If I want to see a satire of rich, lazy people who do nothing all day long I could just watch the Kardashians, maybe I would loose even less braincells doing so than reading that rubbish
And the story is fucking abyssmal. It sounds like something an Incel on reddit would write.

There is no valid reason to dislike Jane Austen.

Every single one of Austen's other books is better than Pride and Prejudice. Emma is fucking great and so is Mansfield Park. Why P&P is the one book of hers that became a meme, I'll never understand.

Emma is her best book. Pride and Prejudice may actually be her WORST book, I'll never not be mad that it's the most popular thing she wrote. Almost everything else Austen ever wrote is better than P&P.
