Just a reminder that Shankarafags shit on Aquinas and Christians on the daily, but then try to 'collab' (ie steal our ideas) to boost their own arguments for a false god. They really are snakes of Satan, crawling through and pretending to be people of integrity before they backstab you like jews. Destined for hell are these lost souls, may God help them.

I really don't get why people are so attached to Christianity. There are constant threads on /lit/ about how to fuse Christianity with x or how to change it into this or that.

If you find Christianity and its metaphysics to be false, why not fucking throw it away completely? What the fuck is the appeal for this false religion, even for people that do not believe in its dogmas?

Christian myths and narratives are absolute shit, and if you swap out its philosophy/metaphysics then all you're keeping are these myths.

No. At the end of the day he was still a christcuck and he was deemed a heretic by the Church. Christians pushing for this guy today are just people desperately trying to stay relevant now that Christian faith have completely collapsed.
>g-guys don't leave! we have spiritual masters too! >we have eastern style mystics too!
>non-dualism?? that's what Christianity is!!!1!
Don't fall for it. It's just the final gasps of a dying religion.

Because Christianity is all but dead and they're trying to latch on to other systems in order to try and stay relevant.

People are cringing at dualism and the christcuck is fuming.

>Is Christianity compatible with Indian philosophies?
No. Christianity believes in a personal God, it is a dualist religion, time is linear instead of circular and no reincarnation/rebirth. Just to mention a few differences.

The only people that say they're the same are Christians that are trying to cope with the fact that Christianity is all but dead and are now trying to subvert other religions in order to bring new life into their religion. Or they've read non-Christian metaphysics and realized the baby-tier logic of Christians but are not yet ready to leave the religion because daddy will disown them or something.

The Bible lacks metaphysics. The Jews didn't concern themselves at all with it. Which makes Christianity quite the weird religion as its metaphysics is an afterthought. Essentially Christians built the walls and roof first and then had to try and build the foundation in order to make sure the house didn't collapse. You can see it in all the great Christian metaphysicians like Aquinas. He was basically trapped in this box of his(Christianity) and could never actually step out of it and take his reasoning to its fulfillment in fear of heresy and whatnot. Don't get me wrong, he decorated his little box very nicely but in the end he was limited by his religion and he couldn't reach the heights he otherwise would have been able to reach had he lived in a non-Abrahamic society.

Most other religions derive their myths and legends from their metaphysics. Christians had to try and fit metaphysics into their myths and legends. And now the rest of the world is cringing at them.

>metaphysically rich
lel. It's all baby-tier and contradictory. And when you people try to make it not so by appropriating authentic and deep pagan metaphysics from Plato/Aristotle then you just end up making the Bible and your entire religion obsolete.

Anyone that is an actual easterner in here? I want to know what people from the actual cultural traditions think about all the western teachers using things like Buddha/Jesus interchangeably. Is it a thing in authentic eastern traditions too?

Seems so fucking relativistic to me. I know easterners tend to not be as dogmatic as the Abrahamics but using bible quotes strewn into Advaita teachings makes it all seem so pointless. Especially since they seem so far apart.

I'd recommend you watch this video
>https://youtu.be/5Dk4EIe-qyk

Seems unnecessary to me and if Advaita were to take over completely I doubt such things were to survive for long, so thank the Gods for Advaita not reigning supreme yet. The Indian advaitins might just be thinking it's necessary right now since otherwise they would just appear like some Western new agers. I'm struggling with this myself, since Advaita appears to be the most logical of Indian metaphysics but I don't want to live in a world without temples and Gods, and just a bunch of hippies mediating in their jeans while trying to sound profound by saying all is one.

Hopefully someone here knows more than me and can set me straight by explaining how Advaita won't lead to religious and spiritual death.

That makes sense because Hinduism and the Greeks are both Indo European in origin, while Taoism is not.
