The notion of hyperreality sounds appealing to disillusioned young males who like to think there is some reason they can't tap into their true being and thus their potential (everything now is false, out of control, and should be reversed), but the belief that there is 'being', 'origin', a point of mastery, etc. in the first place before it can even be effaced presupposes a whole host of metaphysical nonsense that is just taken as a given. Why read this man? The same can be said of the Situationists (Debord), Kaczynski, etc.
