Containment is a philosophy that regularly fails and backfires, whether it be Shintoism, American Interventionism, or Moot's braindead bandaid on an intellectual problem. Creating a safe space for people obsessed with modern politics was a mistake, and lets people mistakenly believe the rest of the site subscribes to whatever koolaid they're drinking. Instead of dealing with the occasional voice pushing a cultural narrative, we now have to deal with regular raiding parties on every board, who don't care about aesthetic value and see the world purely through a political lens. Bending under the pressure of a vocal minority who would have dissipated after a significant time is a mistake we all pay for.
