That wasn't exactly my intention, it was more to highlight that it's a bit more of a serious quarentine where I didn't have a choice to go into it, nor to get out of it. As opposed to a quarentine at home with your family. Not that it matters. I don't glorify the military and I try to dissuade anyone who says they're thinking of joining.

You get treated like shit, you don't get paid anywhere near what you would on the outside world. You work ridiculous hours and any complaints about it is "you dipped out mate" which basically means you got unlucky today, deal with it.

I was duty that night so I had to be up for work again at 1am. So barely one hour or so of sleep.

0130-0745 Duty. Then straight back into the normal day. That day doesn't exactly happen often but the fact it happens at all is enough to make me want to hang myself or float test myself. Living the dream, serving the queen.

I fall into the trap of getting really interested in a certain subject or genre. Buying 4 books on it and reading 2 or 3 of them. End up shelving the other. Probably read about 70% of them I think. I have boxes more under the bed as well. Need to start getting rid of them to be honest. Only keeping nice hardback editions, books I plan on rereading and my favourites. That's the idea anyway.

Well I'm as far from that as can be being an engineer in the royal navy. But cheers for the recommendation lad. I think the only books I've really struggled with were book of the new sun, and blood meridian. I understood Dostoyevsky more than I understood whatever the fuck was going on in blood meridian. I found the prose hard to follow.

Do you think I'll struggle with this?
