Im looking for the best polemical works there are. Doesnt matter whether theyre books, essays, letters or whatnot, as long as it includes one author BTFO'ing another.
I heard Nabokov was a bitter and stubborn piece of shit, does anyone have a collection of his scathing reviews?

Maybe im a brainlet, but there's one thing i dont understand. In the second part, the narrator starts to unravel, which signifies a development, not just in the narrator but also in Dosto himself. I never got what this really was meant to be.
It's been years since i read it, though, so maybe i should give it another shot.

You mean
>Adolescence is dismissing Marx because of "human nature" while thinking Nietzsche is that guy who wrote about the Overman which you then aspire to be
>Adulthood is realizing that Marx is even worse than you could have imagined and that his pseudoscience is in many ways just as utopian as the contemporary socialists he criticized, and that all his economic analysis is now outdated as the field of economics has surpassed him, while also realizing that one cannot truly be a Nietzschean due to the many contradictions within his work, and that chasing the ideal that another man has created for you is ironically the least Nietzschean thing to do. By growing beyond Nietzsche, the adult fulfills Nietzsche

The only emotion i get from Rupi Kaur is diarrhea. Nael, on the other hand, gives me a primordial sense of terror, as if there were an actual tiger stalking me.

I can't really see a meta thread, so here goes. Could a pure genre fiction board be an idea? Judging by this board it looks like a lot of the posters strongly dislike genre fiction, which leads to a lot of unnecessary shitposting and garbage threads.

I personally love contemporary "weird fiction" and would like to discuss that with other like-minded people. A board like that could also include threads about YA books, Twilight and Fifty Shades of Grey, those kinds of trashy literature.

Thoughts on this? I'm serious, and while I personally think weird fiction is more worthwhile than vampire sex novels, I don't really judge. It's just genre fiction, escapism for specific audiences.

Ive been neglecting reading novels this year. Give me your best novel recommendations, preferably in English or with good English translations.
Im also interested in decent Marxist or reactionary political commentary/philosophy

Does anyone else notice how people who talk about being 'ethical' tend to be scumbags and people who claim to have views based on 'empathy' tend to be borderline sociopaths who are filled with glee when opponents are attacked or killed? Are there any decent books that discuss this phenomenon on the evil trying to rationalize their views? All i can think of are Nietzsche and to a lesser extent Uncle Ted and maybe Hoffer, but the latter 2 aren't really established philosophical figures (although they have been influential).
