/lit/ went through many social changes throughout the past few years, but this latest iteration is the worst by far.

/lit/ went from being:
>half-decent discussion by people who at least tried to give a shit about literature.
>decent, but at least well discussed memes.
and finally to
>memes for the sake of memes, as well as generals.

I fear that this board is dead.

I've read like 5 books my whole life and want to change that. Is starting with the greeks a meme or should I just read whatever I'm interested in? how do I not get overwhelmed with my readlist?

I really enjoy the chart threads and their image macros. After discovering that /lit/ has their own Wikia, I spent some time going through all the uploaded images, categorizing them under Category:Charts, and created a new page, which, hopefully, will eventually sort and organized all the categorized images.

I am encouraging /lit/ members to help me collect, upload, and organize the vast amount of charts this board produces.

If you do upload a new chart to the Wikia, can you ensure that you add the image to the category charts? You can do this simply by clicking on the uploaded image, clicking 'more info', scrolling to the bottom, and clicking 'add category'.

Thanks.

Is it really that necessary to comprehensively read the greeks before moving on to later renditions of philosophy? I've already read the Republic, Nicomachean ethics and Organon. Is it that necessary to read an entire bookshelf's worth of greeks before commencing on Nietzsche
