Is the 'magic' or esotericism espoused by the likes of Evola and Guenon something totally different from the idea of satori/rigpa/the timeless ground of being eastern religions talk about? If we partake in perennialism and agree that they're talking about the same thing, then why on earth would would you bother with Evola and Guenon? The east didn't suffer from 2000 odd years of spiritual castration through Abrahamic religions, so they have a massive head start when it comes to honing their ideas and spiritual practices. It's reached a point where a man can read a textbook on 'enlightenment', outlining in detail various meditative concepts, states of being, what to expect, what pitfalls to avoid, etc, cogently explained and totally free of any kind of obscurantism or religious hocus-pocus.

Because Guenon is merely a symbol, a transmitter of the Eternal Wisdom. Everyone else mentioned in your post is tinged with delusion and ignorance due to them not realizing (supra-intellectually via the νοῦς) the true non-duality of Being.

René "The world will end in 12 years" Guenon was a genius in making myths appear real. I appreciate the book for its esoteric-aesthetic merit, but other than that I can seriously not imagine why people get into this whole "Traditionalism" thing.

I think I'll stick to reading Eliade.

Evola deviated from the principles of the traditionalist school and destroyed the spirit of Guenon's ideas. There are not more intellectuals like Evola because the one's who have read and properly understood Guenon would never go the way that Evola did

In RAtMW and in his other books Evola demonstrates on a number of occasions that he fundamentally misunderstands important aspects of the eastern doctrines that he purports to speak about with authority. (e.g. he writes that Advaita Vedanta paved the way for nihilistic hedonism when it in fact came up with and presented a systematic explanation of the role lust plays in bondage to samsara and how to transcend it; or he presents Buddhism as aristocratic when in fact it was the anti-traditional revolutionary teaching of its time that upended social hierarchies)
