No. The short stories off unique twists on Grimm Fairly tales and such which further demonstrate the lack of originality Andrzej Sapkowski has. Just read Elric of Melnibone, they are more enjoyable and are a speedier read.

The other lifted a detailed period of history in a rough style that required a sudden and jarring change of perspective to maintain interest until such a point that nobody really knows what is going on anymore and requires a close reading in order to plot the most basic moves and motivations of characters.
