Recently I remember seeing a couple dozen people respond to some puddle of pseudophilosophical gibberish with "this is why I still browse /lit/" and "oh wow holy shit golly gee!!!" etc. and I was sickened and in that moment I knew that there is no return, that what once was a diamond in the rough in my newfag eyes is in fact still more rough, filth dressed up in a fancy suit, kitschy sparkles glued onto feces; I knew then that there is no return, that I am an oldfag doomed to wander this place 'til the end of my days. There is no going back, nor is there any escape. Eventually, I think, my posts will dwindle and dwindle, like a voice heard from further and further away, and then inaudible, but I will still be here: I will have gone back to the silent lurking from whence I came, but permanently dissatisfied, a Tantalus stranded in this adolescents' library dreaming after the slightest semblance of succor.

Even though originally every subculture tends to born out of its lack of opportunity to find voice within the main stream of culture, one formed, acts as a minority group and thus has a fanatical/conservative approach to anything within the group.

Hume 'destroyed' the highly redundant aspects of metaphysics, but the real questions, those of identity and nature—as started in Plato—weren't seriously asked until >>12782420 came along.

If you want to take philosophy seriously you have to ask whether 'metaphysics' is something that can be the object of your destruction, or whether the categories presupposed in that claim are already informing you to speak in such a manner.
