dello Stirner, anche i non deliberatamente apologetici, tradiscono
questo strano asservimento alla attrazione allucinatoria che si
dilata dalle dottrine di lui.
Il primo scrittore, per esempio che fece conoscere alla Francia, appena un paio d'anni dopo la sua comparsa in Germania
(la quale accadde nel 1845), l'opera che è qui tradotta, scopriva
questo suo speciale stato d'animo e di disagio intellettuale e sentimentale con queste parole veramente tipiche: " Che si sia trovata una penna per scrivere simili cose, per scriverle con tanto
sangue freddo, con una così corretta eleganza, è un mistero incomprensibile. Occorre aver letto questo libro per essere persuasi che
esiste " (1). Non sarebbe possibile rendere palese con maggiore
nitidezza la sorpresa che l'opera dello Stirner suscitò alli sua
apparizione. E nemmeno sarebbe possibile fare una confessione
più chiara, per quanto tacita, d'intera rinunzia al proposito e
alla fiducia di poterlo confutare con esito felice.
