How can you dicuss these works without becomeing philosophical?

Usually how "interpretation" threads go one anon gives his interpretation and end up spoon feeding all the other anons in the thread, at which point they just start parroting the same interpretaiton over and over and over again.

And lit talks about authors more in the hisotrical context rather than their writing style.

To facts, I have never seen one fucking thread on hgere talking about allegory, metaphor, pathos, logos, or even bathos. No one talking about symbolism, or imagery.

also your thread is self defeating OP since you are essentially arguing about the what a /lit/ board actually should mean.
If you want to have "quality" thread return to /lit/ I suggest you make those threads yourself, and put the effort in to keep those threads bumped to the front page, report all off-topic threads, and sage everything else.

Husserl's cartisean meditations is a good point to start understanding what kind of thing Heidegger is doing.

But its important to have understanding of kant/hegel/Nietzsche and the greeks as well.
