Not him but the Transformers movies are shit tier. Fuck Hollywood for producing massproduced crap that the market will mass eat up.

The Transformer's anime trilogy was one of my first proper exposures to scifi and included some serious Ship of Theseus philosophising and had some extremely memorable, unique and tragic characters like Alpha Q who lose everything dear to them in the cruellest way imaginable (an alien survivor rendered into a fivefold schizophrenic by despair trying to recreate its homeworld from the inside of the planet eater responsible for its destruction while existing in a parasitic relationship with the aforementioned). There was also plenty of interesting commentary on bioengineering, political commentary, the complexity of memory underlying an individual's allegiance both moral and ethical and nuanced questioning as to whether individuals can truly change.

And Hollywood turned it into fancy CGI memeshit where the Decepticons 9/11 Antarctica and human romance. It truly boggles the bind. This shouldn't be how the series is remembered.
