What is you guy's opinion on LitRPG/Progressional fantasy styled books? For the unaware, these books are basically character driven power fantasy stories that follow the story an individual going from the very bottom of society as a leper, all the way to the top of it as a legendary godlike figure; this is usually achieved through intense training and nonstop life or death fights as they search for the pinnacle of what it means to be strong.
There will usually be numbers, ranks, or some other quantifiable way for you to measure the protagonist as they gradually become stronger. These numbers are also used to wank the protagonist as they'll usually break the established system repeatedly by beating opponents when it should be physically impossible.
Some examples of this genre would be Cradle, any Wuxia, Xuanhuan, or Xianxia, the Stormlight Archives, Worm, and the Lightbringer series.
With all of this in mind, what is your opinion on this subgenre of fantasy; do you enjoy it?

Sanderson doesn't deserve the hate he gets. He's a phenomenal worldbuilder, and his magic systems are fascinating - so fascinating that most ya authors and all upcoming witters are trying to copy him.
His critics may argue that his prose is weak, but it's not. Basic? Yes. But weak? No. Sanderson's prose is based around painting a picture in your head with as little words as possible. He's not trying to be flowery or poetic, and he's not trying to break new ground in the medium. He's simply trying to tell a damn good story, which he does, by brilliantly executing tropes in a satisfactory manner.
Sanderson is easily a top 10 fantasy writer of the current era, bakker autism be damned.
