I see the tranny janny on duty has deleted my thread right when it was about to go somewhere. It isn't funny when Liberalism is called out on it's bullshit, and the fact that it is as violent and oppressive as any other ideology, isn't it? Fuck you, I'm posting it again!

Here's the deleted thread:

After reading this, I am now blackpilled on politics. Are there any more books like this?

Finished reading Schmitt's "Der Begriff des Politischen" and I think it's a very interesting and unique take on politics that is not very common, certainly not today. What was particularly interesting to me was Schmitt's Lack of a definition regarding what a friend is, as well as the fact that, in the text, Schmitt rather explicitly rejects the notion of the enemy as being a subject to hate, which I think implies a distinct lack of group identity in the text. Now, I'm not sure if his lack of defining the friend is simply sloppiness, or if(given his reference to Hegel's dialectic of quantity and quality) he was trying to make the point that there is no such thing as a friend beyond contingency, just as for Hegel, there was no determinism to an organic system(Though I may be misreading or misremembering Hegel). As such, I have the impulse that Schmitt was explicitly rejecting the idea of group politics based on an essential identity or resentment, and rather though that it'd ought to operate out of a merely contingent membership in a group, nation, etc. With that being said, I do recognize that there is an issue for my hypothesis, an that is the elephant in the room, which is that Schmitt was a nazi, who were arguably the posterboys of group identity politics based around resentment.

What background do I need before reading this book? Already well versed in Hobbes, Machiavelli, Locke and Kant, and about a 3rd of the way through Hegel's phenomenology.

This will be the most important book you ever read.

White majorities across the west would wake up sharpish and the results would be quite ugly.

The U Chicago edition with the super-ugly cover. It's like $20 new because it's from an academic press, but you could find it used on Amazon or get it through the library. Or steal it from the internet. It's short, too, so you should be able to get through it relatively quickly, and Schmitt's a good writer.

It's not that contemporary, but Schmitt is probably the only bearable right wing political theorist

>"teehee that looks like an interesting boooook anon! whats it about?"
>Oh, it's a profound study of the existential basis of all politics. As the Lord says in the third chapter of the Book of Genesis, 'I shall put enmity between thy seed and her seed'. The central insight given by the great Nazi jurist Carl Schmitt is that enmity is an inescapable condition of community, that being-with necessitates being-against, and that liberal attempts to remove enmity from the world and generate a peaceful global community is either bound for failure or else a conscious lie designed to persecute their opponents in an ever more clever and hidden way.

Reminder that the political is about a way of life itself as understood and exercised by human associations which may come into conflict with other political entities rather than discussion, or laws, or freedoms, or rights, or economics.

Reminder that everything Schmitt said regarding liberalism and its eventual development rang true.
