Daily reminder that almost all Hindus, all scholars, and most Advaita Vedanta followers themselves AGREE that Advaita Vedanta was largely a ripoff of Mahayana Buddhism. This is why Shankara is known in India as a cryptobuddhist.

The problem with Guenon is that he's reliant on a Buddhist framework (Advaita Vedanta) reinterpreted by theosophists and neovedantists. Evola at least goes beyond this.

Guenon is an interesting thinker but be careful about taking him as gospel. He only represents a westernized and neoplatonic version of the advaita vedanta position in Hindu philosophy, which is an offshoot of Buddhism more than an offshoot of the vedas.

It's important to get well-rounded perspectives. Religious advaita adherents will tell you that their system is flawless and has decisively refuted all other systems, but naturally every adherent of every system will tell you that.

What you should really do is study the texts for yourself and don't be biased by any one person telling you how to interpret them. Hope this helps!
