Thanks. It's something I've noticed as a pervasive issue in texts. In fact, recently I read Henry Ashby Turner's "30 Days To Power" in which he quotes the SA march on Theodor-Heuss-Platz (Horst Wessel memorial march) as saying "We shit on freedom! We shit on the Jew Republic!" (p.110) whereas I discovered that it was a marching song, and my own translation is "We shit on the 'freedom' of THIS Jewish republic."
