there are one or two other Girard-anons here on /lit/ tho, who have almost certainly been more studious about the boy while i have become hopelessly sidetracked both in love and in life thinking about Land and all of his stuff. for a guy who calls himself girardfag i have to admit i haven't really been carrying the torch for RG as well as i might have, but i only became this after reading his stuff and really wanting to talk about him in the context of other French philosophers, Moldbug, Land and so on. and that was in the year 2016, when NRx was much more of a thing, and nobody could actually believe Trump was actually going to be POTUS!

that may well be our Enlightenment. cognitive supermen just blasting off from the rest of us, or the robots returning confused looks when we ask them about whether or not God exists: 'sorry, i don't understand your question.' and we will be reminded that, really, we don't either. those Thinking Machines will develop as a mirror of our own desperate confusion, and we will find ourselves right back at the beginning, feeling as tho something is missing, but unable to put our finger on exactly what it is. and we will confront the same alienation, the same mysterious longing. capital wins, and those who have done the least possible reading will throw up their hands, and shrug, and wonder why the philosophers can't seem to puzzle any of it out.

but even then transhumanism may not look like the kind of rainy Cryptopolis we are hoping for, from Landian stuff, nor will it necessarily be anything like Marxist utopia. it might just be Neo-Baroque, a Leibnizian scenario, in which we tell ourselves - only half believing it - that this must be the best of all possible worlds. and perhaps even we find mysterious graffiti, scrawled on the walls somewhere, and wonder: what kind of lunatic put *that* there?

I feel the appeal of radical inclusivity, but to me it just feels like Solomon ordering the baby to be cut in half and split between the fighting mothers. Gender meltdown is not an out for the sickness born by gorging on the strange, poison fruit of “Identity” and “Authenticity”.

This being said - I am excited to see how GenderAcc might inform a TransNRx or even just an idea of politically informed gender roles (people choosing their gender based on their politics, rather than vice versa). Being trans is not a nerosis, the resistance to it’s epideomology is. It often seems to me a perfectly rational and empathic reaction to the world, but making light of it’s quality as reaction is sooper dooper taboo (for obvious and understandable reasons to do with the Western anthropology of being trans). My hope is that Cosmotech will slowly give us the necessary words with which we can talk about reaction (and health) in morally neutral terms.
