About how many words do you estimate the collated works of Plato and Aristotle to be? Greek mythology is great entertainment to me, and history is very serviceable to my interests, politics is also up there with the others because I want to study as many governments of law, but I'm only interested in philosophy as much as I can divine the mentality of its contemporary or of later ages from it, for example however Socrates reacted to the prevailing opinions of his time or how Plato and Aristotle influenced the later Catholic Church.

With this in mind, how much material, that treats on ethics separate from what I mentioned above, would there be to skip? If I don't see it as too much I might even read it all out of curiosity and mend any lapses of study.

My internet addiction has become untenable. I do nothing but refresh a few shitty chans and read news all day long. Nothing I do gives me pleasure, I don't have the attention span to even watch TV anymore. Things need to change.

I figure if I cut out internet and switch to books it should help to slowly build my brain up out of the mush it's been melted into, but I'm going to need books that don't take a lot of mental power to process but are enjoyable to read.

What are the perfect low effort, high reward books for this? Specific titles would be appreciated, thanks!

How can I develop an appreciation for poetry? I just don't get what the appeal is. It seems like a bunch of meaningless bullshit added to the actual message that just makes it sound different and harder to understand than how we would normally convey the message which makes people think it's deeper somehow. It seems like nothing but an exercise in pretension to me.

What poems did you read which first got you into poetry? Why do you enjoy it? What value does it add?
