In fairness you're probably a neo-nazi turned catholic who hates the jews whilst worshipping and following jewish culture (i.e. prophet of the jews, god of jews, fairytales from judaism, et al.), so its not a wonder you can't understand intelligent peoples reflections on this - the mountain of dissonance involved for you, etc.

why, your first reaction to reading this will be that i'm some pejorative political buzzword.

also,
>How is he so competent at math
>>22076357
>He really isn't.

hilarious. Servant caste human calculators whose brains have been algebraded consider numbers to be the criterion, then quibble about that.

I'll boil down my thoughts on this thread in a way you can understand,

This is a good pointphrased much beter than I did just now. Consider that to a moral or virtuous or intelligent person that Christianity is solipsistic nihilism which encourages nothing good and enables, demonstrably, very bad people to shrug away their crimes by saying "i repent in jesus name," and that this convinces the zealot whose logic says "no" but whose dogma is forced to consider the lying laughing criminal as a brother and let him go off and do bad again. Just for one example.

>that's why he complains about christians not following jesus's pacifistic sayings.
albeit not in my example

And that's precisely why religion and politics must be destroyed entirely before any society can progress.

>big E knows there are gods so he’s not an atheist
No no no it's more simpler than that,

Big E points out that the "brain parasites" people have said are "Gods" are not really gods at all. To be honest I'm not sure what special name for this kind of atheism would be, but it's absolutely atheism;
i.e. he doesn't 'believe' that those creatures are 'gods'.

>The idea is that in 40k, gods (well more like, warp entities) are fueled by how much and how many people believe in them, by convincing his entire Imperium than gods don’t exists, the emperor planned to starve the chaos gods,
Well that's what Magnus says in TTS, but just that's the opinion of Magnus that .. for example.. "Nurgle represents nature incarnate," which is a theistic or deistic view of the creature called Nurgle who may just be a goblin creature who convinced some people once that he was the "avatar of nature incarnate,"

Ha I always think of that star trek episode where they find those two Ferangi masquerading as Divine Beings to a planet of half-wits, same thing.

> while telling his subjects that there is no god, which is a lie, and one of the reasons the Word Bearers revolt against him in the first place.
but it's not a lie. Tzeentch is mayb the easiest example of the imperial truth in action; I mean, anything whatsoever could go on and Tzeeenchy just says "i planned this" and there's no proof he did anything.

Even the whole Daemon Primarch aspect or the literal existence of "chaos daemons" (or whatever) does not make the "gods" Gods.

I think from this point in the question we'd e bounced back to the "sufficiently advanced tech/knowledge seems like magic to people who on't understand the tech/knowledge,"

and i just thought, also, that we know verbatim in the story itself that the gods did not create anything but were 'created' by the eldar - so they are not gods, objectively and demonstrably, by what the word God means.

yet even this is a funny joke on them; takes about 60 seconds to learn that the Emperor was a secular rationalist who burned down churches and hated religion,

"conquer the chaotic parasite infesting your brain and retake it with an iron fist,"
"the gods need you and your pitiful unstable emotions to exist in the first place,"

The Man-Emperor of Mankind

I think, to be honest, it's not this but the word 'Roman' in 'Roman' Catholicism. Rome is the echo, in every real way, of the Great Times; and many people have used the name to borrow from its legacy over the centuries.

>Was it a think tank that Propagated it? CIA?
I think the thing originated in its current form 'by' religiots in the first place, as I said to the earlier guy (see above, pun intended), it was always the claim of the religious people that their own peculiar brand of nihilism and solipsism was the most moral thing in the world and that without it they would be raving monsters, when this was never the reality of things. In later times (near modern) the same argument came back,it's nothing really new except that it's been repainted as if it were a claim made by non-religious/other-religions.

It's kind of a tragedy that false claims were made about [opposition group] and christians/muslims bought it and so when those christians/muslims discovered that their holy book was in the wrong on one thing or another they believed that "therefore" "anything goes" and proceeded to start visiting gay bathhouses and smoke crack cocaine, because they'd been so thoroughly convinced that the claim was being made by the opposition which they now believed themselves to be a part of.

It would be funny, in a way.. and it kind of is... but it's a lot of misery built on lies, and the lies, as usual, come from the proponents of religion... in this case though the only victims are the apostates and deconverted, so it has a malicious and quite devious rationale going on, as a believer who stops believing is more inclined to present themselves in the next instance as an example of unmitigated vice when they otherwise would have had no reason to.

I mean, that for "anything goes",

whereas,
>“we’re all just atoms”
that's science, buddy. Although "all you are" you're also a machine that produces excrement by the same reasoning; if that is mistaken as a "world view" by someone then that person is likely mentally and verbally retarded.

>: "sophistry", not: "philosophy".
One's just a pejorative for the other; and the religion differs no way from either, really, when concepts such as Hagia Sophia (Holy/Higher Sophistry; Wisdom) are taken into account.

This thread is just citing one man wearing a diaper mocking another man wearing a diaper over the differences of their diaper. His is decorated with blue teddy bears, and other bears red racing cars.

No this is silliness. You're ascribing far too much power to trivial temporal fleeting things; when it's no more complex than..
e.g. at age three we both liked the teletubbies and one of us grew out of thinking they were the best and ultimate form of living.

Now, reread what you said in the above context,
>We can't just think ourselves into not being susceptible to conditioning and you don't want to, it's a fundamental aspect of the brain and training. You're apparently not conscious of either subtle symbolism or any type of related subtle conditioning so you think you're above it.

s'just moobies, man. Clearly the defender 'of' symbolism is proving some kind of later thesis of how much passion and religiosity he ascribes 'to' those symbols, when we're just speaking of stories and art.

I think my use of the term 'iconodule' has been proven more true by this.

>the official line
Again, if it's not actually true then it' not actually true. Declaring eating lightbulbs to be highly beneficial doesn't make it so.

I think you're coming from the idea that opinion or proclamation means something, I forget the name of the fallacy.

>if you compared it to what people considered "common sense" centuries ago.
>They are only considered zealots because history has passed them by and "zealotry" is a bad thing
Nope, those things were still patently stupid and opposed at the time and unlawful in virtually every instance.

In each of those instances, not guided by logic or the scientific method of proving a thing true or false, people therefore who committed those atrocities were doing so because they believed in absurdities.

see: Chrysippus of Soli; cause and proof (from about 300BC) to understand that determining a thing to be absurd is not a matter of a opinion.

>before the enlightenment,
Again, pretending that burning a person alive will make your crops grow is both incorrect (it will do nothing to solve the problem) and an absurd thing and an attrocity belabored by an absurd delusion. This is scapegoating, verbatim, from the jewish theology. to pretend some random goat can have Jims crimes magicked into it and that Jim will be innocent, obviously not. Jim will reoffend.

It's the psychology of this,or the criminology rather, of deflection away from Cause and refusal to deal rationally with a situation which is the constant across the centuries - this doesn't change and the constant cause is unscientific thinking.

Actually for context that was the background that Voltaire et al were coming from, this was still occurring even in parts of America until the revolution put it down. It's obviously still valid, then, as people believe that doing/killing X will remedy Y situation when there is no connection at all other than their absurd narrative which tells them it 'will' remedy Y situation.

> "Religious idiocy"
Agreed; better to call both political-ideological and religious idiocy just 'dogma', the blind following along with local inherited normalcy which has not been run through a logic engine to figure out the consequences. 'Ethos' in the original meaning of the world, as opposed to Logos, begetting Pathos as consequence.

> while religious societies are on the rise and don't seem to either slow down or stop anytime soon.
Look, if you're asking me to kill them all I'm afraid my dairy is fully booked until the 30th Millennium.

1) THE LAST CHURCH (NOW A MAJOR MOTION PICTURE)
EMPEROR FROM YEAR 30K VS. LAST PRIEST ON EARTH IN BATTLE OF WITS (IT'S LIKE THE ATHEIST EXPERIENCE WITH FLAMETHROWERS)

2) DEATHWING

3) THRONE OF LIES

4) INQUISITOR (ONE OF THE FUNNEST FUCKING BOOKS EVER)

There are other greats, I'm sure, and a few I like that didn't make this list. I seem to like the Night Lords books the most. Deathwing is a masterpiece, Throne of Lies is gorgeous... fuck.. but the Last Church, taken completely as a standalone novella, is a true literary masterpiece.

Also, to the list, could be added "the glorious tomb" (or something like that) where it's a first person narrative from the dead occupant of a titan dreadnought. I forget the title.

Hail the stripstodes.

>beauty, grace and talent in such abundance that he leaves other men far behind, all his actions seem inspired and indeed everything he does clearly comes from God rather than from human skill.
Ahh i think this is what anon meant by 'having a crush' on another Man lol

It's skill and competency, that's all. I notice that the idea seem to alienate ordinary Men from seeming capable of accomplishing basic things; a high achiever is a saint or a wizard or now a gay man only 'in' a society where low achievement is the cultural norm - and that's not a good society; that's a society where the saint can just as easily be praised as to be called a witch and tortured to death.

Not optimal.
