So maybe I am a racist after all. I'd describe myself as a realist: Racial profiling is ok because black people are in fact more criminal than white people. Racial profiling is an effective means of preventing and detecting crime. However, the high crime rate of blacks does not depend on any "racial characteristics" of blacks, but on the fact that blacks have a harder time and therefore get faster on the wrong track. Where racial profiling is necessary, it is necessary also to change THE societal conditions and to eliminate all causes OF higher crime rates.
