I don't want to make pol offtopic bait.

I've noticed that the best literature tends to put the hero under the underdog position?
Is there any biological fundation as to why humans stories feel better when they're about an underdog who comes from poor families becoming the hero that saves the nation?

I dont understand why ive seen this book get so much hate here. its not deep or a philosophical classic sure, but its a lot of fun. tbf the radio series its based off was a more enjoyable experience, but its almost word for word the same as the book. either way its funny and enjoyable to experience. why cant people just let others enjoy perfectly passable media?

I want to start a blog for personal reasons, but knowing that my writing will never be seen - at least, not quite on the scale that it might have been a decade ago - really brings me ire.
Should I still go through with it? Feels like there's no point doing all this work and knowing that the odds are stacked against me to garner any readership.

Teaching yourself is a meme. Anyone with an actual understanding of latin-hellenistic literature knows you can’t just learn the nuances and oddities of the language autodidactally. Grammar and words, sure. Someone devoting an hour everyday to the study of grammar and such will learn the language in a matter of months, really. But the problem doesn’t come when reading and translating, but understanding, that’s where they have no knowledge! It’s a culture with literary traditions over 2000 years old. Scholars today are still trying to wrap their heads around the culture. Therefore, to think you can just learn latin without a guiding hand properly explaining the literature is the height of ignorance. My latin teacher knew hundreds of lines by heart and when speaking those lines he always spoke in perfect metre. Latin was basically his life. If someone had a proper understanding of latin, it would be him. Wouldn’t you want to learn from someone like this?

How the FUCK do I teach myself English grammar? Starting at the very beginning with parts of speech etc. Any books or sites you guys recommend?
