The flaw with so many modern Christians is that they try to reduce Christianity to a series of moral and philosophical positions with only the fig leaf of the Risen Lord. Christianity is a fraud to these people, they follow moral positions but they don't REALLY think that Jesus rose from the dead.

On the other hand, if you subscribe to the idea that the Resurrection is true, then you realize we live in a supernatural, miraculous world, and all things are possible, including the idea that Christ, when he spoke those words, doomed some of the ones hearing them to walk the Earth until He comes again in glory.
