Economic Facts and Fallacies should be on that list.

Whatever Happened to Penny Candy by Richard Maybury, I read this when i was a teenager, really straightforward ans useful. I especially like how the material is presented systematically and in small, understandable chunks via letters from an economist uncle. I appreciate how the author gives historic examples of the principles discussed, and shows how the economy has influenced history.

Economic Facts and Fallacies by Thomas Sowell, it is filled with great analysis that most people would understand and rebuts many popularly believed but fallacious ideas.

My recommendation, if you are trying to get yourself acquainted with economics, or if you for some reason subscribe to Keynsian economics, read the first six chapters of "Economics in One Lesson" and then immediately immerse yourself in "Economic Facts and Fallacies". You won't regret it.
