Name a more Jewish book. The first chapter literally talks about ruining soliders families through to tampering letters. Why, Jews, why?

I've heard so many instances where people "fall out of their chair laughing" or "laugh so much they cry" reading this book. During my read of it, neither of these happened. I probably smiled once or twice... but I can't see how people laugh out loud over this book. Does anyone care to share your thoughts on this? Is the book truly laugh-out-loud funny?

All the male comradery would infuriate any woman. Also, think about the portrayal of women in the book.
Fuck, I love catch 22.

>war is absurd
>army is bureaucratic and absurd
>i don't want to die
why is this so repetitive? is it just me or does it feel like instead of elaborating on these statements he's just mindlessly repeating them over and over across the whole novel?
