I found the article where Luttwak makes this claim, he also claims that antisemitism is a response to a group that is just so great and accomplished that you must hate them. For what it’s worth he’s pretty accomplished himself, speaks 6 or 7 languages, acquired degrees at all the top universities, written dozens of books, advised leaders in a military capacity around the world, and he even killed a Syrian soldier in the Six Day War. I think he runs a ranch in LatAm in his spare time.

I’ve seen some describe the angel of Yahweh as an example of a theopany, a visible manifestation of a God. The angel of Yahweh is supposedly the pre-incarnate Jesus Christ. We see this when the 3 angels visit Abraham, when Jacob ‘wrestles with God’, and when the Angel stops Abraham right before the sacrifice of Jacob.
> Genesis 22:11-12 ‘But the Angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said, “Abraham, Abraham!” So he said, “Here I am.” And He said, “Do not lay your hand on the lad, or do anything to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.”’

Does anyone have a BAP-adjacent reading list? The last book I read was Mishima’s ‘The Sailor Who Fell From Grace With The Sea’. I’m reading Bel Ami by de Maupassant currently, and incidentally I found Benvenuto Cellini’s autobiography in a thrift store the other day.

Alexander’s Campaigns. More specifically the battles against the Persians at Issus and Gaugemala, where the Macedonians were outnumbered at least 2 to 1. The battle of the Granicus is also of note, where Alexander managed to lead his forces across a river to fight the Persians. It’s a pretty awe-inspiring book desu. Countless examples of Alexander’s unwavering will power: conquering well-fortified cities, fighting literal uphill battles, and completing many long forced marches through extremely arid deserts.
