Marcus seems like a decent fella.

Who were some famous philosophers/social critics who were actually successful outside of ranting on paper and put their ideas into practice?

I can only think of Marcus Aurelius and maybe Engels.

What is the right (see: best, in your opinion) way to read the Meditations? Should it be taken as self-help, a philosophical treatise, or something different altoghether?

Anyone have a philosophy book that's just someone talking about life and how to be a good person? Preferably by someone kind and wise. Enjoyed pic related and looking for more. Tried starting with Senca and currently liking it. What should I read afterwards?

I find it to be cryptic due lack of understanding of older english language. I sort of wish there was a more modern wording but that would be lazy of me.

Is Meditations any good? Found it in the wiki here.
I'm a business student and I really want to get into casual reading, especially over the summer, because I don't read enough as it is and I wanna improve my reading speed to help with school.
I don't think I'd be too into fiction. I just read the big short and thought that was pretty good. Besides my major, which is accounting, I guess other stuff I'd be interested in would be philosophy or psychology, or even other business concepts. Idk, learn me on reading please /lit/ ?

What is the best translator for the greeks? I've read some meditations on a shit translation online and still loved it. I want to pick up a nice copy. Which is best and why?

Where should I go after this?

I recently made my entry to /lit/ with Meditations. I'm nearly finished, what would be a suitable sequel? I'm thinking Epictetus' Discourses, but I may as well read some Greek Stoic books or go forward in history, maybe Immanuel Kant?

Just FYI Meditations is the first book I've read in the last 4 years and I liked it quite a lot.
