I have been predicting a resurgence of trip posting on lit for a few months now, just wondering. Ever since they got rid of the IP counter I thought there would be some kind of reaction. I think it could be a good thing, contingent on the one requirement that all trips must occasionally post some kind of creative writing with a modicum of effort.

Are you familiar with Delillo's 'White Nosie'? A novel based heavily on Baudrillard's philosophy. In the novel, there is an 'Airborne Toxic Event'. There was a movie adaption of WN released in November 2022, the Ohio train derailment happened in Feb 2023. The 2023 Ohio train derailment has the exact same setting and circumstances as that of the Airborne Toxic Event in the book.
You need to read S&S to really understand. Read 'The China Syndrome' section. It's mind boggling.

I want to really get a grasp on post-modernism. I'm living in a hyper-real hellscape, so I might as well try to understand how this happened and what will happen next. What is the reading list? Just watched this guy Rick Roderick's lecture on Baudrillard, is he legit (Rick Roderick, I mean)?
Seems to me that all of these reactionary right-wingers who constantly and vehemently denounce post-modernism are actually trying to hide some knowledge from me. I want to know why.
