I've become a hard line antinatalist misanthrope and I don't know how I'm gonna make my way through the world without Ted Kaczynski-ing myself at some point.

I've been having these dreams lately that go on for what feels like days. What the fuck is happening

I've gained too many interests and I feel like I don't have enough time for all of them and it's becoming a big source of anxiety. Studying languages, reading fiction and philosophy and poetry, studying quantum physics, hiking, writing, composing music, learning to draw, going to the gym, photography. That's not even counting my actual responsibilities. To make matters worse there's a big list of things I want to try / learn about, like cooking and film theory and jazz and sewing and linguistics. There's no way I can do it all. I can only even approach doing it all because I'm a friendless loser with a remote job.

I really need to cut down to a core set of interests, but every time I try I feel like I'm making a mistake. Fuck.

I want my sexual desires to go away, they've done nothing but hurt me

I've taken to drinking away my sadness every night which is probably going to result in me becoming an alcoholic but for now it's pretty fucking fun desu

Does anyone else have a sort of vague anxiety surrounding literature and philosophy? So many people have tried to express truth through their works, so many philosophers have tried to order the world, and yet none have succeeded to any meaningful degree. There has been no enlightenment. And they're almost all miserable, broken people. It's horrifying to me how people can devote their whole life to the pursuit of knowledge and not make any meaningful progress. More than that it's the hint that there IS something grand to be reaching for that scares me.

Literally why would you want to? You're much better off sticking in your little bubble of ignorance. Knowledge is pain. Thinking too deeply leads to madness. I honestly regret that I ever started to read, which I did purely for social signaling initially. I may have actually amounted to something instead of ending up a depressed lonely sad sack who spends all his time moping about the meaninglessness of life but is too much of a pussy to actually kill himself.
