Ulysses is the book that does not belong in the meme trilogy. Too fucking hard. Give me something as sumptuously delectable as David Foster Wallace and Thomas Ruggles Pynchon. Something I can understand at the level of the paragraph.

They are great for remembering why reading is so fun and pretty solid introductions to the world of non-shit literature.

A lot of the reason people associate the meme trilogy with plebs is they're a really good way to recondition your brain to literature after taking a break (or never being into it in the first place). They also remind you of the fun and rewards of reading over other media.
