I've taken an entire class on Flannery O'Connor from one of the world experts on her (Marshall Bruce Gentry at Georgia College in Milledgeville, her home town). We could talk about Hazel's inability to rectify his inability to deal with females, and how his lack of religion emotionally castrated him? Or that gorilla suit. Or the car. I can talk about that car for hours.

I have dozens of back copies of the "Flannery O'Connor Review," every single one of her works, and even more written about her. She is my favorite short story writer and maybe even my favorite female author (with the possible exception of Gertrude Stein).

What is some GOOD American Christian lit? Too many recs for Christian lit are foreign works you need either translations of or to learn another language to read. Too much American Christian lit is feel-good self-help cultural prot schlock with names like “God is my neighbor and he mows my lawn.”
