>tfw you finally understand Hegel's arguments in the Preface after reading three different translations of it and various commentaries
It's really interesting when you get over the initial obstacle of his terminology, but it is annoying that he doesn't just mention which philosophical ideas he is referring to. This is my main beef with Hegel, he spends a few pages telling you why a philosophical work can't place itself in the context of previous philosophy, and then he literally spends the rest of the preface commenting on modern philosophers without mentioning them - sometimes multiple ones in the same sentence - and everyone is just expected to realise what he's talking about at any given moment.
The Phenomenology needs some kind of annotated edition that tells you "okay, here he is talking about Schelling, and now he's switching to Spinoza" etc., it would help immensely.

Any point reading Hegel if you think Kant's idealism is bs?

Now's a great time to be studying Hegel. There have been several new translations of the Phenomenology recently, and I recommend Terry Pinkard's - it's generally better than Miller and has useful notes/alternate translations for contentious terms etc.
If you're using ebooks, you can easily switch between Pinkard's text and Findlay's analysis in the classic Oxford edition, which can help you understand a passage (admittedly, Findlay is sometimes completely off as well).
Finally, Mr. Sadler's Half Hour Hegel goes through the text paragraph by paragraph and is probably the most ambitious commentary on the Phenomenology yet. You have no excuse but laziness at this point.

Only pseuds care about getting all the references and masturbating to how well read they are - things that actually matter can stand on their own two feet, without any need for some flimsy scaffolding of memes. If you can't understand a book without some outside help, throw it out the window - its contents are worthless meme shit anyway.
