No idea why. I live with my gf who has been diagnosed and takes meds and whilst I love her, being with someone who is depressed is exhausting - especially whilst maintaining a home together. It's like talking to a brick wall sometimes and it's sad watching it destroy someone despite your best efforts to keep some sort of equilibrium.

This irritates me. Having a down day isn't depression. Not having enough likes on instagram isn't depression. I also have a colleague at work who has used his "depression" to take paid sick leave for almost six months now. He won't come back because he literally admitted he cba with his job. This fetishism of mental illness for personality points fucking annoys me and I can easily see why there's a stigma around people announcing they have it.
