Been looking for a while for a system that has completed it. Obviously I stayed away from Zen for as long as possible because of all the gay Zen westerners and because I don't want to become a weeb.

But the more I look the more it seems that Zen has done it. They have embraced the practice, the metaphysical and epistemological truths of Buddhism while also rejecting its cringe scriptures and the nonsense of Indian ahimsa culture. It has been done.

Where do I turn now? Is there any hope for me or should I just accept it and go buy a kimono?

What are the arguments for Zen not being Buddhist? I've heard some people say it.

Have Zen rejected scripture and Buddhist ethics as a necessary step toward enlightenment?
