>ÆSTHETICALLY, AND POETICALLY.
What are you talking about? the visuals, by and large, were BORING in 2021 dune. some background costumes looked great, but the generic sci-fi mechanical design (besided maybe the dragonfly copter) was TRASH. literally, looks like something I would see in direct to sci-fi channel 2000's teirs mechanical design.

The music was pretty great, as well as the general audio work, I will give you that, but VISUALLY it mostly sucks. the color choice was pretty bland, it would have been nice if spice idk, like saturated the colors or somthing. Maybe give Arakis a warmer color pallet, SOMETHING. There are these big sweeping orchestrial pieces and the camera lingers on something, but that thing doesnt really have the granduer to warrant the drama of the music. It was fine to watch in theaters, but I can only assume it will be very boring watching it as a repeat. the themes arent exactly deep, the musical pauses dont happen during points of revelation, just slight dramatic changes in tone. Its not bad by any means, but its pretty bland (Again, besides the music)

Where next, /lit/? I'm saving Dante for when my Italian gets better. Thinking about Davideis, Epigoniad, Thebaid, or Knight in the Panther's Skin, can anyone hit me up with a rec? Is the Ramayana worth its length? Anyone here read Trissino, Ercilla, Klopstock, or Wieland?

Take this line:

"Won. And, in this dominion swirled death,
In this ascendant realm was constant august
Constantine – great now named, and ever known"

focus on - "In this ascendant realm was constant august"

It's from my own work, and it runs one syllable over ten, yet, it doesn't break the flow, and I am not sure exactly how to word this and still make sense, but the flow doesn't break, and somewhat improves it by having the breathless build to Constantine - which one could say is an indication that the meter is noticeably broken, but not really.

>God is still all-loving g-guise
God, throughout Christian history, has largely not been viewed as the savior of the human race. It has been the teachings of Jesus which gave the people guidance in historically Christian societies. Similarly, Mary, the virgin mother of Jesus, was, throughout history, viewed as the all loving savior of man. You will often see a disproportionate amount of Mary symbolism and depictions in Renaissance art, sometimes even superseding Jesus in importance, because it was at this time that the Christian people did not pray to God, or even to Jesus, but to Mary for salvation. This has largely fallen to the wayside in the growth of modern Christianity, and God has gained the image of benevolence by some denominations. God, historically, has been an object of unwordly omnipotence and insights, and Mary had been the one to help guide mankind to salvation through her benevolence.

Many do not willingly submit themselves to religion. The number of people indoctrinated into religion vastly outnumbers those who willingly choose a religion in adult life. It is much harder to break from a framework of thought that you were raised in than to choose never to enter it as an adult. I do not mean to say all religious people are victims to their ideology, but it is true that virtually all of them were indoctrinated at birth. Whether or not this is viewed for the better or worse is moreso subjective.

By the way, even apart from a metaphorical suicide, go out and get some experiences. You sound just as sheltered as I was. It's a wide world, and the little keyhole you're trying to peer shows only the smallest amount of the world out there.
