Most traditions before modernism came into the world as productive as a flamethrower is to a piece of fine art thoroughly believed that those individuals who are in your life are there because some part of you called them forth to fulfill your spiritual obligations. Modern pessimists called forth more pessimists, the same principle is at work.
It is good that you are devoted to literature anon, but make sure that you're practicing that devotion for the right reasons, only then will people show up in your life who are similarly minded and interested with the same positive attitudes.
