The only real answer is the Frank Burly novels by John Swartzwelder. They’re unironically what got me back into reading ever since dropping it as a young teen

John Swartzwelder novels. He was a writer on the early Simpsons, became a schizo recluse, writers surrealist detective novels now.

Give me some comedy books, or rather just books that are funny and make you laugh. I love comedy but I’m getting tired of the low quality writing (comedy and drama wise) in modern sitcoms/comedies. Help me, I’ll contribute my personal favorite comedy writer in pic rel

Yes they might be Dirk Gently clones, but the series is very good! I highly recommend them and wish I had read them sooner.

This is one of the only book I’ve genuinely laughed at instead of that polite, blowing air through your nose laugh that you do at Joseph Heller or Kurt Vonnegut books.
