What's a good reading list for someone who wants a comprehensive rundown on historical gnosticism? Not new age crap, like Crowley, etc.

Stuff like Gnostic cults aborting children deliberately, murdering people, doing real 'elect' shit to inhuman 'hylics', and so on)

Etc. Everything about it basically. Also specific recommendations for primary sources/the actual surviving 'scripture' rather than secondary interpretations of modern scholars would be cool as well, if there are less well known Gnostic texts outside of the Nag Hammadi Library, for example.

Books with gnostic themes?

Finished the first part of the novel. 18k words so far. I know it's going to be too short (lacking development and whatnot), but I'll leave that for the editing part. The important thing now is to actually finish it for once! I'll have a pile of garbage in the end, but I'm pretty confident I can shape it into something beautiful. I'll rewrite it a thousand times and thousand times more until the Sun explodes if it means I'll have a story to be proud of.

It's possible, but you need to be as brave as the heroes in your tale. Any non-ironically text will be met by grin smiles of "who does he think he is to write an epic?" and "this is too old-fashioned, cringe!". Epics are not the standard anymore, people hate cheesy sincerity. You need to embrace the epicness yourself and rip through the veil of cynicism. Go for it, anon. I believe in you!
