This book is genius...... First it makes you see these systems of US and THEM from a distance where it all appears so silly, then as the book goes on you begin to feel the presence of these superpowers just beneath the page the FORCE and COUNTERFORCE and begin to believe in them, suddenly everyone's taking sides - Tchitcherine sees the truth about the Rocket Cartel he's with US! and before you know it -- YOU are playing into the same game, hoping to see THE COUNTERFORCE prevail but wait, what's that ending, the cycle of DEATH continues.. THE ILLUMINATI'S HAND.... so THE FORCE won? NO - there IS NO FORCE or COUNTERFORCE, there is only INDUSTRY and POLITICS and POPULATION and WAR. These are not simple systems we can smash with attrition. It's a much subtler game we're all helping perpetuate without even knowing it. The ILLUMINATI is under attack here, the monoconspiracy conspiracy ... nothing is that simple ,but rather an EXCUSE for us to play victimhood or turn a blind eye... it's a call for thoughtful revoluiton but that part is up to the world to organize

Gravity's Rainbow for me ... reading it for the fourth time right now, wrote a paper on it for an English course last year and will do it again if I get the chance

I'm sure I'll grow out of this book in time .. but for a certain type of young man at a certain place in his life, this book is basically as good as it gets

Hey /lit/.
I want to start reading thomas pynchon because i heard nothing but good about him, but I don't know where to start. Can you guys give me a guide?

So /lit/, I'm finally reading Gravity's Rainbow, and I am enjoying it even though I"m early into it, but some things give me mixed feelings. For example, the way Pynchon describes situations is almost disgusting to me. It's so jagged and uncomfortable, yet I still read it because I thoroughly enjoy what he's saying. Did anybody else feel this way, or am I just an unsophisticated pleb?

currently on the part where Slothrop and Närrisch are attacking the Assembly in Peenemünde to save von Göll and I have a few questions:

Why did Tchitcherine, Slothrop, Närrisch and Zhdaev change clothes with each other?
Why did Tchitcherine agree to pretend to be Slothrop?
what the fuck does any of this have to do with the Schwarzgerät?
