Well there were only 2 times we had serious "progress".
First one was invention of large scale farming (mostly grain as grain can be stored for long periods of time without rotting) which facilitated sedentary societies compared to hunter-gatherer tribes. The second was discovery of fossil fuels (coal, oil, gas) which enabled industrial revolution and industrial way of life. For most of history people lived relatively similar with minor progress im between those 2 society changing events.
You may argue internet revolution is a major progress on it's own lile the 2 I mentioned before, but I beg to differ. Our way of life right now isn't all that much different compared to say mid 20th and mid 19th century life when industrial revolution was well under way.

Not that anyone cares, but the websites opened and I signed up. Now I've got 6 days to get through an entire Semester's class, Electronics, and then another ~2 weeks for the other one, Electromagnetism. Wish me luck /lit/bros, I need it...

I'll do that, since in the end it seems to be the general consensus.

>It's very easy to engage with the classics without subjugating yourself to a singular "genre"
I know, that's not a hurdle. I didn't articulate it well, but my general problem is something you touch on later. Classics-Wise I'm just not sure where to start from.
>not that fiction is without importance but if you don't yet feel that way then recommending fiction is quite foolish since it won't captivate you
It's not that I don't "like" it, it's that I don't know what I "like". You know how people have have a "type". They like Fantasy, or Sci-Fi, or they read only non-fiction, and so on. They have those parameters and they never deviate. I never had that and I feel directionless. Who am I? What are my tastes? What are my favourites? Why are they my favourites? I feel nothing. No strong pulls one way or the other. It all just exists as stuff I've consumed.
>But personally speaking, when it comes to what I "like", I don't like a singular thing besides elegant writing as a form. The subject matter can be literally anything, even things I feel like I won't be interested in, as long as the writing is of a particular technical quality according to my own need.
That's how I've approached media/entertainment all these years, but the completionist in me makes it hard. If I like something that belongs to Genre A, then I have to consume and cover everything that belongs to that genre. If I focus on just one genre, I feel as if I'm neglecting the others. So, I diversify and try to cover the best from each genre. Which brings me back to the starting point and the cycle repeats.

>Τί ἐννοεῖς? Ἔχεις ὀλίγον ἐλεύθερον χρόνον?
Yeah, behind on quite a lot of STEM-related classes.

Good points. I suppose I'll start with something from the Top 100 and work my way from there.
>How To Read A Book by Mortimer J. Adler
I'll take a look at it.
>Ἐν τῷ μεταξὺ δέ, μελέτα τὰ ἀρχαία, ὀλίγον κατὰ φοράν.
I've been meaning to learn some new languages for a while now. I used to have about 500 GBs worth of Learning Packs, and I trimmed them down to about 300 GBs or so. Honestly, I'm also /g/ illiterate, my PC is 5 years old and I can't even figure out how to assemble one. I need to go back to the basics and crack open some books on how to build and use computers. It's downright laughable at this point.

That's an option too, but I figure I should start from the GrecoRoman stuff first, history-wise.

Was the point of this post trying to convince us that you are not, in fact, autistic?

As opposed to someone who becomes emotional over some random person on the internet calling a game boring. You certainly have put your your intellectual prowess on display. Go make a Go thread if you want to talk about boring games that no one plays faggot.

Apart from the Gospels, what's some good literature to combat autism and being nitpicky and antisocial?

>tfw gf is infatuated with literature and philosophy
>tfw she drags me to plays and gets into long discussions with me about them afterward
>tfw continually fake sharing her interests because that's how I got her to go out with me to begin with

It's not easy
